WARRANTY INFORMATION
Gradual damage occurs when something causes damage to your home slowly over time. Gradual water damage is a common problem when it comes to making insurance claims.
Painted face frames, doors, and other painted parts of the product may eventually have visible cracking around the joint areas. These changes may be accelerated or intensified by sunlight, smoke, household cleaners, and other environmental conditions, and such conditions may eventually cause the wood to warp, split, or crack.
Cabinetry that has been exposed to water also extreme high or low humidity.
Appliance Damage
Appliance heat, steam, water or other factors related to appliance use that damage cabinetry are considered improper care and will void warranty
Neglected Chips & Scratches
Neglecting chips and scratches is considered improper maintenance. When chips or scratches are not properly touched up, they are a future point of product failure and will void warranty.
Water Damage
Damage caused by exposure to water and/or damp cloths is considered improper care and will void warranty.
Humidity & Temperature Damage
Humidity and temperature causes wood products to shrink, swell, crack or warp. Home environments beyond our Care and Maintenance guide are considered improper maintenance and will void warranty.
Hairline Cracking
Visible cracking around the joint areas of painted face frames, doors and other painted product is considered a natural characteristic of wood. Wood naturally expands and contracts with changes in humidity and temperature and is not covered under any implied warranty.
This warranty covers the craftsmanship of the cabinet boxes, doors and functional hardware. Natural aging or darkening of wood color, variation in wood and grains, normal wear and tear are typical in solid wood, and are not considered defects. Over time gaps may develop in door joints from temperature and humidity changes, these gaps are not subject to repair or replacement as they are a normal part of the aging process. This warranty does not include damage due to misuse, abuse, improper storage, or exposure to extreme temperatures or humidity.
Please note that Fantasy Kitchens & Counters continuously strives to provide the best quality products to its customers and therefore, due to progress and possibly other circumstances outside its control, identical replacement parts may not be available. Fantasy Kitchens & Counters cannot be held liable in the case that the replacement parts are different than parts originally supplied at the time of purchase. As time progresses, natural and environmental elements will alter the appearance of wood products; Fantasy Kitchens & Counters will make its best efforts to match the appearance of the original products, but cannot be held responsible if the color match is not perfect.
Should a defect in the material or workmanship arise during the warranty period, Fantasy Kitchens & Counters reserves the right to use its judgment to either repair or replace the defective part(s). This warranty includes only the parts and materials that were supplied by Fantasy Kitchens & Counters and does not cover costs for removal or reinstallation of countertops, plumbing fixtures, appliances, or labor costs.
All wood products are affected by environmental conditions. Wood will move with changes in temperature and humidity. Wood will change in color over time in part due to exposure to UV light. Coatings do not prevent wood from moving or changing color and must be expected.
Movement in the wood may translate into minor cracking at seams and joints.
This movement in the wood is not considered a defect.
The finish on wood cabinets, like any other coating, will perform directly proportional to the care, cleanliness, and maintenance afforded the product.
Cabinets and components that are dented, scratched or scuffed through the coating may lead to chipping of the coating and moisture absorption.
New cabinets are warranted to be free from any of these imperfections for 1 year from installation.
Whereas the movement in wood can happen regardless of the finish, a painted door will show cracks in the coating, and clear applications may not be seen.
For painted cabinets, we can offer certain styles made from one piece of material. Single-piece HDF doors and fronts are recommended if the potential of seeing the seams under the paint is a concern
What is not covered?
- Cabinetry damaged after delivery
- Damage by other sub-contractors upon installation.
- Normal wear and tear from everyday use and the settling of a new home.
- Cabinet door and drawer adjustment beyond initial service.
- Service beyond the warranty period of one (1) year from date of delivery.
Note:
Weather conditions and temperature changes may cause natural expansion and contraction in the wood. These changes in the wood may result in the need for door and drawer adjustments. Expansion and contraction of wood is a natural process. When wood expands, it will eventually contract and vice versa. Temperature and humidity variations can cause this process. This is considered normal maintenance and is not covered under the warranty service.
Wood is a natural product, and variations in grain and color are common and do not mandate replacement or refinishing.
